Everytime my 16 month old son wakes up he shakes or trembles as if he is cold? He has done it a couple of times when it wasn't cold, we asked his doctor and he said it was normal but he says that for everything. Does anybody know what this could be? It last about 15 to 20 minutes.

i have never actually heard of that but i do know it is very normal for a baby to jump alot both awake and a asleep especially if he or she were a premiee. honestly i would go to another doctor just for a second opinion. at least it will give you comfort.
You need to pray for he is a son of God pray to God and ask for advice and comfort for your son.. Have faith

Probably your son has low sodium. It means you give him a lot of of water that lowers his sodium. Don't give him too much water. Read some book how to feed your baby.
it might be a habit or child might not be geting engough personal attention, also try not to give him food before he go's to bed!

hes fine...my son done the same thing i always thought he was cold but i always use to feel the back of his neck and he wernt ! i think its just like when you stretch your body shakes...dont no if you rson does this aswell but when my son woke he would just open his eyes really wide? maybe there dreaming !
