Why does it hurt to break a bone?

why does it hurt? what causes the pain?are there nerves in ur bones?
Answer:
There is a very thin layer of tissue that covers the outside of the bone called the periostium. This tissue layer is very highly innervated and is what causes the pain when you break a bone. The bones themselves do not have nerve endings inside them.
kidding right?
no bone nerves it is the nurves through out the skin and it makes it feel like bones.
i hope your kidding....if not i don't know what your problem is
I'm a nurse, and I don't know, but it's surely one of the worst pains there are!
there are NO nerves in our bones..the nerves are around the bones and throughout our musscles etc the whole body..when you break a bone the nerves around that area sends messages to the braina nd well thats what causes the pain..its the bodies way to react to damage to itself..and lt ya know.so actually the nerves are what causes the pain.
